The Cowee Mountain Timber Framers School offers two types of opportunities, workshops or apprenticeships, for you learn our craft. Whether your interest is in a new profession, cutting your own frame, or designing frames, CMTF can be an affordable and rewarding place to start. The school also offers continued design support for our graduates with the sale of frame plans and shop drawings. Our students have gone on to work in timber frame shops, build and design their own homes, and develop a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship of this timeless construction.
In addition to the standard shop week, students are encouraged to take on independent design projects while at CMTF. These projects in the past have included the design of small outbuildings and cabins. Please click on the program link that suits you best.
